Turtle Logic, is inspired by a gay icon of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Locals referred to her celebrity filled summer get togethers as “Poodle Parties.” The beach in front of her now gone family vacation home is still called “Poodle Beach.” Wilmington native Louisa Carpenter, was a pioneering pilot and horsewoman, known for living openly as a lesbian long before it was socially accepted.
Turtle Logic is the fictional story of Nancy Carver, who tragically finds herself suddenly retired and living alone in a Delaware beach town, when the pandemic strikes. She and her new neighbors spend lockdown listening to the taped memoirs of a Jazz Age heiress named Edwina Beauvoir Burnett, who knew that intrigue, adventure, and a sense of humor are always in fashion. Through the intertwined plots, Nancy and Edwina heal their broken hearts, and step into the future with a hopeful sense of humor.
